Is Miaustore ceramic water fountain for cats really worth buying? In this review I will share my opinion and explain to you what it is practical, ecological and economical.
I started my adventure with cat fountains a long time ago, tryed various watering systems available on the market, but nothing seems right. I decided to give a try to Miasutore fountain and share with you my review.
What is a cat water fountain for?
Our cats, although domesticated, are hunters. Moving water is more attractive and interesting for your cat. Cats prefer to drink water that moves, e.g. from a tap. or a water fountain.

Few words about Miaustore
Miaustore is a Spanish company that creates stylish products for cats. Their main product is the ceramic cat fountain, which they created by examining the needs of cats and cat guardians.
How much does it cost to use the Miaustore fountain annually?
At first glance, the price of the Miaustore fountain may seem quite high. Well, hold on with me. After calculating the cost of use, it turned out that due to the low energy consumption the total cost of the fountain is really low. Check it out:
The power consumption of the fountain is 2.5W. Counting that the fountain will be used without interruption all year round (i.e. 8760h), and the average price of electricity in Poland (because I live in Poland) is about 0.60 PLN for 1 kWh:
2.5W x 8760h = 21,900 Wh, or 21.9 kWh
21.9 kWh x 0.60 PLN = 13.14 PLN
The annual cost of using the Miaustore ceramic cat water fountain will be only 13.14PLN – around 3 Euro, assuming that it will run all year long 24/7!
Is it still possible to reduce the energy drawn by the fountain? Oh yes! Miaustore‘s offer has a motion sensor thanks to which the fountain will work only when there is movement e.g. of a cat.
Was the fountain well packed, is the pomp quiet, and what was Apollo’s response to the new fountain? Check out our video with full coverage of unboxing and our first cat-tests of the Miaustore fountain on our YouTube:
Design of Miaustore ceramic water fountain
Design of the Miaustore ceramic cat water fountain is really elegant. In addition, the fountain is available in several color options. Everyone can find something that matches their interior design!
Miaustore cat water fountain is made of ceramics and this is a huge advantage of this fountain. Ceramic fountains are very easy to clean and therefore do not accumulate bacteria – the ceramic elements of the Miaustore fountain can be washed in a dishwasher!
You can read more about the cat’s ceramic dishes in my post How to choose best bowl for your cat?
The quiet pump
The Miaustore fountain uses a silent water pumping system. Fountain is extremely quiet even when the water level is low. and in addition the pump was placed in the highest tower surrounded by sound absorbing ceramics. In our unboxing video you can hear how quiet this Miaustore ceramic cat water fountain is compared to a classic water fountain.
Large water capacity and a variety of heights
There is up to 4 different levels in the Miaustore fountain and can be used by cats of all ages. The fountain has a fairly large capacity (up to 3.4 liters), so the water must be changed (as provided by the manufacturer) – 3 times a month. I personally change the water and clean the fountain once a week.
The Miaustore ceramic cat fountain offers 8 different zones with water included:
- 3 small waterfalls,
- 3 surfaces with flowing and moving water,
- small water geyser/spring,
- calm water surface.
This is evry imaginable way in which water occurs in nature.
Simplicity of disassembly and assembly
The Miaustore fountain is really simple to assembly and disassembly while being secure against accidental overturning by the kitten. To disassemble the fountain, simply pull the turrets upwards slightly tilting them. Assembling is also very simple, check out my unboxing video to see how I did it for the first time.

My opopinion about Miaustore ceramic water fountain
I regret that I delayed getting the Miaustore ceramic cat water fountain for so long, because it was love at first sight! Apollo put down his old water bowl completely and currently drinks only from the fountain (previously he had water in the fountain and the bowl and used both equally).
It is possible to wash all the ceramic elements in the dishwasher! – I am in LOVE!
Do i recommend it? Of course! The Miaustore cat fountain is truly fantastic – from both a human and cat’s point of view
Advantages for your cat
- The movement of water motivates the cat to drink.
- As many as 8 different zones from which a cat can drink water.
- Can be used by cats of all ages.
- It can be fun – Apollo loves to play with the water gayzer/spring.
Advantages for you
- It can be washed in a dishwasher.
- It is very quiet (even when the water level drops significantly).
- Large water capacity (3.4 liters).
- Eco-friendly low energy consumption.
- Simple assembly and disassembly.
I must admit that it was hard for me to find any flaw. The only drawback that comes to my mind is the fact that ceramics can break if we drop it.
You can buy the fountain at a price of 56 € on the Miaustore website https://miaustore.com/. Shipping is possible to different countries, for example, delivery in Poland takes 3 to 7 business days.
