Few words about Dolina Noteci
The Dolina Noteci company is a fairly well-known Polish producer of cat and dog food. It is present on the Polish market for many, many years. Sadly not everyone knows that the Dolina Noteci is more than just pet food. The company has taken many steps to be greener – for which I respect them very much.
Eco-friendly
- Dolina Noteci uses renewable energy sources (solar energy), and uses LED lighting, which consumes much less energy than ordinary light bulbs.
- Runs a waste segregation program at the plant and cooperates with packaging recovery organizations.
- Monitors water consumption and reuses it in processes where it is possible.
I am glad that the awareness of the obligations towards the environment is present in an increasing number of companies in Poland and in the world!
Tests and composition analysis
Last year, the company refreshed its range by changing the cat food line Dolina Noteci Premium. One flavor line is in sachets, and the other in cans – just like the Tundra, about which I wrote recently.

The producer states that Dolina Noteci Premium cat food is complete cat food. I have checked whether it really is the complete and balanced base of a daily and diet for your cat.

Comprehensive composition analysis
Advantages:
- good variety – several types of meats in the composition, optimal level of fats and proteins (in cans),
- no cereals and gluten, no vegetable additives,
- no preservatives, no flavor enhancers, no dyes,
- relatively good ratio of calcium and phosphorus.
Disadvantages
- Too small amount of taurine – it has only 800 mg, and should be 1000-1500mg / kg and up.
- The foods contain up to 65% meat products, of which about 10% is muscle meat. All the rest of the composition of animal origin are offal. Offal is an important part of the cat’s diet, but too much offal may result in diarrhea in some cats.
- Too high carbohydrate levels in some food variants.
- The food contains vitamin C. Cats produce vitamin C themselves and there is no need to supplement vitamin C to healthy cats. An excess of this vitamin leads to the formation of kidney stones.
- Sterilized sachets contain substances that acidify urine (ammonium chloride and DLmethionine). There is no need to acidify the urine of healthy cats. Prolonged use of such a diet can lead to kidney stones and urinary problems.
- No mono-protein options.
My opinion about Dolina Noteci Premium
It’s fantastic that the company tries to care for the environment. I had high hopes for Dolina Noteci Premium and I am feeling disappointed. After analysis, I find that both the composition and values of the analytical components deviate from the norm. In my opinion, wet cat food Dolina Noteci Premium cannot be the complete basis of a daily and balanced diet.
