Josera cat wet food

Josera cat wet food

Josef Filet is wet cat food produced by a company actively involved in environmental protection. Thanks to Josera, we had an opportunity to test the Josef Filet.

Do you know Josera pet food?

Josera is a family company from Germany that creates natural animal food. They are known for their dry food, but recently they have offered two lines of wet cat food: Paté and Filet. Their shop also sells toys with catnip and cardboard houses.

⠀⠀

An environmentally aware company

Josera does not carry out tests on animals during production and actively participates in environmental protection.

As part of the project to reduce carbon dioxide, Josera planted many trees and is constantly working on a more ecological production and transport method. In addition, the company is part of the Eco-Management and Audit System (EMAS).

Unboxing

On our YouTube channel you can watch a video from unboxing Josera products and assembling the cardboard house:

⠀⠀

Tests and composition analysis

Josera Filet doesn’t contain any grains, GMO, dyes or preservatives. The food is intended for adult cats and can be used in cats with kidney problems.

Available flavor variants:

  • echicken with duck,
  • chicken with salmon,
  • chicken with beef,
  • chicken with veal.

Price (around): 1 EUR / 1,2 USD for 70 grams

The producer states that Josera Filet cat food is complete cat food. I have checked whether it really is the complete and balanced base of a daily and diet for your cat.

First impression

By the name of the product “Josera Filet”, I expected that in sachets I would find loose pieces of fillets in sauce, but to my positive surprise, the foods have a really nice, thick and moist consistency. The smell of food is also very nice and natural.

⠀⠀

Composition and macro calculations

To find out the nutritional value and balance of the cat food, I calculated the exact content of macronutrients in the feed (the percentage of protein, fats, and carbohydrates relative to 100 grams of dry matter).

⠀⠀

My composition analysis

I do not see the need to quote full product compositions here, because the detailed composition of each food is very easily available on the website Josera.

Conclusions

My cat’s opinion

Apollo liked all the flavors we tried. How I know he like it? The plate was licked clean in a few seconds, and his fluffy face was directed at me with a question in his eyes “Can you gimme more?”

⠀⠀

In my opinion

The food has a balanced composition, adequate taurine content, and thanks to the good ratio of calcium and phosphorus, it is also suitable for cats with urinary problems. The amount of carbohydrates in some foods is slightly too high – by 1-2 percentage points, but this is really a small margin that you can afford. The composition of feeds is natural: it doesn’t contain cereals, GMOs, artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives.

Advantages

  • clear and easily available feed composition description,
  • the right amount of taurine,
  • good ratio of calcium and phosphorus,
  • no wheat and soy,
  • no GMO,
  • no artificial flavors, no dyes, no preservatives.

Disadvantages

  • only available in 70g sachets,
  • the amount of carbohydrates in some flavors is slightly too high.

Currently, Josera Filet is available only in the form of 70 gram sachets and the dominant ingredient is chicken. I hope that soon we will get larger packaging, e.g. 400gram cans (as another step towards being eco) and other meat bases, e.g. turkey. I will closely follow the development of this Josera product line.

After my analysis, I think that Josera Filet can be the complete basis of a daily and balanced diet. I and my fluffy cat Apollo recommend this wet cat food
